How will you use this hoist?
Pick the closest match. Each duty class has its own capacity envelope: the heavier the use, the lower the rated weight. Selecting a class lighter than your real-world use voids the manufacturer warranty and risks motor failure. If unsure, pick the highest expected class — the hoist you actually need.
Save your configuration
Get a shareable link, email the PDF to yourself, and we will save the configuration on our side. We confirm your e-mail address with a short code before anything is sent.
Reset configuration?
All option selections (duty class, capacity, lift speed, trolley, options…) will return to their defaults. Your current quantity and delivery address will be kept. This cannot be undone.

The GIS GPK low-headroom models are designed for particularly low rooms and confined spaces. The load chain is deflected upwards through a redirecting frame, so the construction height shrinks dramatically compared with a conventionally suspended hoist — you win precious centimetres of lifting height under every low ceiling. A standard GIS GP electric chain hoist sits inside the frame, so the proven GP options remain available.
Key features
- Low-headroom design — the chain is deflected upwards by a special guide in the frame, significantly reducing the construction height and maximising the hook path in low halls
- A standard GIS GP electric chain hoist is integrated in the redirecting construction and delivered fully equipped
- Three frame sizes: GPK 500 (up to 1000 kg), GPK 1000 (up to 2000 kg), GPK 1600 (up to 4000 kg @ 2 chain falls)
- Hook position adjustable by the geared limit switch (standard); ergonomic control switch with emergency stop
- Lengthened frame available for large and bulky loads — suspension/hook spacing factory-set from 600 mm up to 3000 mm so the load cannot collide with the housing
- Two suspension points (eyebolt suspensions standard) — combine with a PAIR of GHF push or GMF motorised trolleys for travel along a monorail or crane girder
- Speed profiles: single-speed N (8 m/min @ 1 fall), two-speed NF 8/2 m/min for fine positioning (default), slow NL, fast SF 16/4 m/min at reduced capacity
- Automatic chain oiler standard on the GPK 1600, optional on GPK 500/1000 (food-grade oil available)
- Options: safety radio remote control, operating data counter, Klixon temperature monitoring, second brake, safety load hooks, chain buckets, special voltages
- Protection class IP65, insulation class F, load hooks DIN 15401; 3-phase mains 3 × 400 V / 50 Hz
- Complies with the Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC
Technical overview
- Model / SKU: GIS-GPK (GPK 500 / 1000 / 1600, formerly GCHK)
- Product family: Electric Chain Hoists
- Load capacity: 250–4000 kg (125 kg on the fast SF profile)
- Lift height: 3–12 m (3 m of chain included)
- Lifting speed: 8 / 8-2 / 4 / 16-4 m/min at 1 fall (halved at 2 falls)
- Duty class: A3/M3–A7/M7 depending on profile and capacity — GPK frames rate one class below the naked GP hoists
- Suspension: two eyebolt points, standard or lengthened frame (600–3000 mm spacing)
- Power supply: 3 × 400 V / 50 Hz (3-phase only)
- Protection class: IP65
- Typical use: low workshops and cellars, mezzanines, machine feeding under ceilings, container workspaces, monorails in confined production halls
Configure capacity, lift height, duty class, speed profile, frame lengthening, trolley pair and options online, then add the hoist to the cart or quote list. Every configuration is priced from the current GIS factory price list.
What it is for
- Electric hoist for repeated lifting at workstations, on jib/gantry cranes and monorails.
- Production lines, assembly, maintenance with frequent cycles.
- Machine building integration.
Check before you choose
- WLL and duty class for the real cycle rate
- Lift height and hook path
- Speed and dual-speed for fine positioning
- Trolley (manual/electric) and beam profile
- Voltage and control (42 V low-voltage pendant, radio)
- Environment: dust, moisture, temperature
Not suitable for
- Pallets on the floor
- Explosive atmospheres — use pneumatic ATEX hoists
- Outdoor without protection class
Before you order Technical check — we confirm a few parameters and compatibility with you before the order.
To confirm the right configuration we will ask you:
- Required hook height and available height from beam to load; hook path; beam profile/flange; duty? Headroom must be measured on the complete assembly; a few centimetres decide whether the required height is achievable.
- Heaviest load and how often per hour / per day? Duty class (FEM/ISO) must match the cycle rate or the hoist overheats and wears fast. WLL alone never decides the model.
- Is there a certified suspension point: beam, jib crane, gantry, runway? Beam profile (IPE/HEA/HEB) and flange width/thickness? Without a suspension point the hoist cannot be used; the trolley must fit the flange and the beam must carry the load.
- Power available: 3×400 V, 230 V, frequency; or compressed air (pressure and flow at the hoist)? Decides electric vs. pneumatic; single-phase limits capacity; air pressure at the compressor is not pressure at the hoist.
Typical mistakes to avoid
- Measure the headroom on the whole assembly — a few cm error can make the required height impossible.
Helpful to have ready: Section of the room with dimensions · Beam profile · Mass · Upper/lower hook position

Dead weights refer to the standard frame with 3 m lift; the lengthened frame (suspension spacing up to 3000 mm) adds weight depending on the extension. The GPK hangs at two suspension points — trolleys and suspension accessories come in pairs. Protection class IP65, 3-phase mains only. Values follow the Special models manual 9500.9004.1 (tables 5-1/5-2) and datasheets 9511.9213/9214.5, 9515.9215/9216.5, 9520.9206/9207.5.
