- Load mass, dimensions and how it is placed: centred, at an edge, rolled on, point load? Does a pallet truck or forklift drive onto the platform? Rated capacity does not permit any point or eccentric load; edge/rolling loads count as 50 % / 33 %; a vehicle on the platform adds wheel loads.
- Platform size vs. load footprint; lowered and raised height; travel; cycles per hour; lifting time? Lowered height decides pit or ramp; travel decides single/double/triple scissor; cycle rate sizes motor and hydraulics.
- Long platform: COG position along the platform, several support points, deflection, scissor synchronism; contact points of the load? Long tables are sensitive to eccentric and local loading.
